The secondary school “G. Mazzini” is situated in
Lanciano, in the Abruzzo Region (Central Italy), between the Appennines and
Adriatic Sea.
The pupils that attend the school are 672, while the
teachers are 57.
The subjects taught in the school are: Italian, History,
Geography, Maths, Science, Foreign Languages (English is compulsory, then the
student can choose a second language among French, Spanish, and German), Music,
Art, P. E., I. T., Religion.
Some student also attend afternoon courses where they
learn how to play a musical instrument or they have Drama lessons or practice a
sport.
Pupils come to school from town or the neighbouring countryside. The social cirsumstancesof the families vary greatly. There are many pupils fighting dissocial or learning problems.
