Parent of a student wrote after the meeting
One late October afternoon our telephone rang . Some
message was sent and called us to be hurry up, because our
Transylvanian student-guests arrived. The same night, the mobile rang
again: and it was announced that the plane of the the
Italian students landed successfully.
We were a little excited and went to the restaurant of Halaszkert
to wait for our guests and guessing who would be ours We were thinking
about .how we would be able to communicate with him or her. These
and countless similar questions were asked from ourselves and each
other. It was unnecessary to be nervous, because a few hours later
we noticed that our children overcame the age , the culture,
language, difficulties and obstacles, they were laughing
and talking sitting around the table.
There were 10 students who came from Romania,Szekelykeresztur, 10 children from Italy , Lanciano.
During this short period of time we could learn about each other,
each other's customs and culture, and good friendships were
formed. There is a very big positive aspect and a very powerful
force in shaping the community of this kind of student exchange
programme and this was necessary in this fast-running
world, our school can be proud of having taken advantage of this
opportunity
During these few days, there was no lack of programmes, time passed
very quickly.. One day,we were walking in the Royal castle of
Buda admiring the panorama of the city, the next day the children were
in the unique cave bath in Miskolctapolca enjoying the
water and the special environment. We visited the
Grassalkovich castle in Gödöllő and then we went to he Lazar
brothers, Domony valley to see the unforgettable
horse presentation.
Of course, at home, here , in Gyömrő, our guests had
also many attractions: the Reformed Church Teleki Castle, Folk
museum and the beautiful lake. Returning back to the school ,
everybody was invited by a folk artist Judith Szmelo into the mysteries
of gingerbread ornamentation.
"Theatre premiere was also included in the programme, Matthias of
Geese was performed by the pupils of 5th classes and it had a
tremendous success.
IT WAS an "international cooking festival" last evening at
school. The teams had wooden spoons, pots and everyone
prepaired their own country specific dishes . We cannot
list the so many kinds of delicious dishes, just a few of them :
stuffed cabbage, hominy, spaghetti, pancakes, fish soup ..
We spent very meaningful and memorable days together,
and behind all these were our parents, we can only guess how much work
and effort they did for us and our guests.

To
say good bye, was in tears..We got a lot of experience from
this Comenius project. We must thank to the school management,
teachers, parents,to make it possible to fulfil our dreams and this dream trip.
The sponsors also helped a lot and now we would like to thank them for their
help: Baranyi Pal CBA , Gyömrő Gyongye, Rehor Csaba, parents and
